This series is not in sequential order, (darn Blogspot).  The divers started from a platform 85 feet above Boston Harbor from the roof of the Institute of Contemporary Art.

Viola cornuta (Violaceae)

A compact annual or short-lived perennial, native to Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains. This variety has been used extensively in floral gardens and has escaped from cultivation to roadsides, fields and waste areas throughout much of the United States. The vibrant blooms are deep purple and yellow, creating a solid carpet of color for weeks. Prefers partial shade to full sun in rich, well-drained soil.

Manomet Bird Observatory - Bird-in-Hand demostration

The Plymouth Digital Photographer's Club (Plymouth, Massachusetts) visited the Manomet Bird Observatory for a couple of hours of bird photography. Birds are trapped in nets, brought in for banding and measuring other metrics and released. Here is their web site:
