The Surf Patrol setup shop for the day. You is supposed to swim between the flags, which are set about 100 yards apart. Outside of that you are on your own. The water was 80 degrees in October (our equivalent of April). I tried to buy one of their famous swim caps - they are Yellow and Red with a chin strap. Not for sale.
Think of this picture continuing for 4,000 kilometers from the top of Australia to the bottom along the Eastern coast. It was blissful.
